Following the successful takeover by the BMZ Group, Marco Klimmt takes the lead as the new CEO of Nox Cycles with immediate effect, replacing Carsten Sommer.
Back in September 2023, the BMZ Group, a global manufacturer of lithium-ion battery systems, acquired e-bike manufacturer Nox Cycles.
Entrepreneur couple Carsten and Gaby Sommer, founders and previous owners of Nox Cycles, built up the company in Zillertal, Austria, and made it an integral part of the e-bike industry. Visionary Carsten Sommer is now leaving Nox Cycles after a rapid success story. Under his leadership, Nox Cycles has developed many innovative products within a very short period of time, conquered international markets and established itself as a specialist for e-mountain bikes.
Marco Klimmt, an experienced industry expert who worked at Brose Fahrzeugtechnik for many years and is currently head of the e-bike business unit at the German headquarters of the BMZ Group, will take over the general management of Nox Cycles with immediate effect.
Carsten Sommer says goodbye with the words:
"After an incredible ride with Nox Cycles, I have made the difficult decision to hand over my "baby" and leave the company. It has been a privilege to work with such a passionate team and to witness the transformation of the company over the past few years. I am proud of what we have achieved together and would like to thank all employees for their tireless efforts and loyalty to me and the company. I would also like to thank our business partners who have supported us and remained loyal to us over the years. The success story of Nox Cycles is now entering the next round with a new shareholder and new management!“
Marco Klimmt comments on his new role:
